More than half of the world’s economic output or $44 trillion of economic value generation is moderately or highly dependent on nature, according to the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). In April this year, Japan’s Suntory joined the TNFD forum with an aim to support a shift in global financial flows towards nature-positive outcomes. In this CNBC ESG Council fireside chat, Tania Bryer speaks to Takeshi Niinami, President and CEO of Suntory. The Japanese beverage maker has a diverse portfolio of products, ranging from premium spirits, beer and wine to brewed teas, soft drinks and bottled water. Its collections include popular whiskies Yamazaki and Hibiki, iconic American spirits Jim Bean and Maker’s Mark as well as non-alcoholic favourites like Orangina and Ribena.
